Hi Friends,
I had an amazing time at The Power of The Plate Conference, where I received the Luminary Award from Dr. Scott Stoll. It’s surreal to think that I received the same award as Drs. Hans Diehl, Joel Fuhrman, Michael Klaper, John McDougall, and Dean Ornish, on whose shoulders I stand. Dr. Stoll did a wonderful job interviewing me, full of heartfelt moments and quite a few laughs, and I hope to share it with you soon.

On Monday, the movers packed us up for our move to the desert on Tuesday. Being the princess that I am 😂, I flew while Charles’ brother, Laurence, drove him and the pups down. After all, returning to the desert feels appropriate. Jews wandered in it for 40 years… apparently, I’m just going back voluntarily 🤣.

The drive to the desert was so long that Shiloh and Trixie fell asleep.

While I was truly excited to be moving to a beautiful new home with a climate more conducive to healing my body, I was truly sad to leave the many wonderful friends I made this past 4 years. When I left LA over 7 years ago I didn’t shed a tear. And when I left the desert 3 years ago we only had 2 friends, Steve and Lynda (who we hope will take us back😅😂)
But this was different. I had to say goodbye to a lot of people who I cherished; Lee, Paula, Peggy, Larry, Esther, Ben, Al, Dottie, Linda, Patel, Geetha, Rich, Dixie, Leslie, Gerald, Rosane, Valeria, Julie, Clark, Maureen and Trish, to name a few.
I was a resident in the desert for less than 24 hours when, on Wednesday, I had to go to Eisenhower for my pre-ablation imaging, which consumed 6 hours of my precious day for ultrasound IV placement, a PET scan, and CT scans with and without contrast – but at this point, the doctors have more images of my lungs than the paparazzi have of Kim Kardashian’s butt. 🤣
I’ll give you the biopsy results as soon as I get them, but the success of the ablation can’t be determined until after Labor Day.
Thursday I had 2 medical appointments. One was to re-establish care with my urologist so that my monthly PTNS treatments wouldn’t be interrupted and another to meet with a primary care doctor to establish concierge care.
Friday morning I arrived at Eisenhower Medical Center at 6:30am for my 8:30am repeat PEF Lung Ablation and biopsies with the same amazing team of doctors, interventional pulmonologist Dr. Justin Thomas and “the funny Jewish guy”, my anesthesia angel, Dr. Michael Kessler.

On Saturday, I attended my first local Vegan meetup and this afternoon I will be attending a play in Palm Springs with some fellow improvers from my class. It stars my brilliant improv teacher, Patrick Bristow (who lives in the desert!), and we will be performing at The Plant Powered Party.

Trixie loves to sleep “pupside” down.

Our dear friend, Lee, made this graphic of Shiloh and Trixie’s drive to the desert.
