Continuing With Keytruda

Hi Friends,

Well, what can I say when the highlight of my week was seeing the Minecraft movie? 🤣 I knew absolutely nothing about the video game, but the movie was delightful—and Jack Black and Jason Momoa were hilarious.

I wish I could tell you I’m back to feeling 100%, but that’s not quite the case. That said, I am feeling considerably better than I have over the past two months. The pancreas pain is decreasing (as is my lipase), but I’m still anemic, so I tire very easily. My biggest issue now is bloating, so I have to be extra careful about what I eat.

One thing I’m super thankful for is discovering a new gluten-free bakery that makes the best sourdough bread I’ve ever had. It’s vegan, oil-free, and absolutely delicious!

They’re offering a 10% discount with code CHEFAJ, and yes—they ship their bread (though not other products just yet). You can place an order here.

I have so much bread right now that I decided to experiment with making a bread pudding! As soon as I perfect the recipe, I’ll share a video in the membership community!

This week, I also had a consultation with a radiation oncologist. But due to the tumor’s proximity to my aorta (less than 2mm), the potential side effects make me hesitant to rush into radiation. For now, I’ve decided to continue with Keytruda, and my next infusion at Stanford is scheduled for June 17.

In the Chef AJ & Friends Community this week, I’ll be demonstrating some brand-new recipes I learned at Rancho La Puerta—along with my exclusive black licorice recipe! There’s still time to join us before the live cook-a-long: Join the community!

I’m also really excited to have my oldest childhood friend visiting over Memorial Day weekend, so I know we’ll be doing lots of fun stuff. I hope you will be too—have a wonderful and joyful holiday weekend!
