Why I Love This Recipe
Hey there, amazing foodies! It’s Chef AJ, your go-to for quick and easy plant-based cooking. Today, I’m thrilled to share a fun and refreshing treat: Ninja CREAMi Vegan Dole Whip. My dear friend and Ninja CREAMi master, Kathy Hester, inspired this recipe, and I couldn’t wait to try it out. When I’m not busy creating oil-free, refined sugar-free, and salt-free recipes, I’m interviewing incredible plant-based experts for my YouTube show. With my busy schedule, I need recipes that are not only delicious but also quick and simple to prepare. This Vegan Dole Whip is incredibly easy to make and only requires a can of pineapple and your favorite plant milk.
This fantastic Dole Whip is a plant-based twist on the beloved Disney treat. The combination of pineapple and plant milk creates a creamy, tangy, and refreshing dessert that’s perfect for any hot day. Whether you’re looking for a light dessert or a tasty snack, this Vegan Dole Whip is sure to become a hit in your household.
Key Ingredients
- Pineapple: The star of this recipe, pineapple provides a sweet and tangy flavor that is both refreshing and delicious. It’s also packed with vitamins C and B6, fiber, and antioxidants.
- Plant Milk: Use your favorite plant milk to add creaminess to the Dole Whip. Options like almond milk, coconut milk, or oat milk work well and bring their own subtle flavors to the mix.
The Process
Start by emptying the can of pineapple and its juice into the pint container of your Ninja CREAMi. If the pineapple and juice do not reach the “line” on the container, add your plant milk of choice just up to that line. Place the lid on the container and freeze it for 24 hours before you intend to make it with the machine. Do not skip this step, as it ensures the proper texture.
After 24 hours, when the pint is fully frozen, it’s time to “spin” your Dole Whip. Remove the pint lid and place the container in the outer container. Lock the outer container lid in place on the machine. Choose the “light ice cream” or “sorbet” setting and let the machine work its magic. It will shut off automatically when finished. Remove the pint container from the outer container and enjoy your creamy, refreshing Vegan Dole Whip!
Chef’s Tips
- Be sure to freeze the container fully for 24 hours. Planning ahead is key!
- Remove your pint from the freezer 5-10 minutes before spinning it to allow it to soften slightly.
- If your Dole Whip seems powdery or dry, add a few more tablespoons of plant milk and spin it again using the “respin” button.
- You can add plant milk to bring the mixture up to the correct line if the fruit and juice don’t quite reach it, but it isn’t necessary if they do.
- Buy extra pint containers so you can make a variety of flavors at once and store them in the freezer, ready to spin whenever you want!
- Variations: Use canned pears, canned fruit cocktail (in its own juice with no added sugar), canned peaches, or mango instead of pineapple.
How to Store Vegan Dole Whip
Store any leftover Dole Whip in the pint container in the freezer. When you’re ready to enjoy it again, let it thaw for 5-10 minutes and then respin it in the Ninja CREAMi for the perfect texture.
